HCL Verse is a mail client for web and mobile that uses HCL Domino as its mail server. Users can read mail, see their calendar and find colleagues without installing HCL Notes on their computer.
What can HCL Verse do?
Verse is built as a modern web app and looks more like Gmail or Outlook on the web than the classic Notes client. It gathers mail, calendar, contacts and tasks in one window.
- Mail with search, conversations and attachments from file sharing.
- Calendar with meeting scheduling, resource booking and Teams links.
- People, where you can see who you write with most and what is waiting from each colleague.
- Mobile through HCL Verse Mobile for iOS and Android, with push notifications and offline access.
Verse or the classic Notes client?
Many companies run both. Employees who only use mail can manage with Verse in the browser. Employees who work in Notes applications all day use the full client. Verse replaces the older webmail called iNotes.
Verse in a migration strategy
Verse is often a step on the way for companies considering a move of mail to Microsoft 365. When users already work in a web client, the switch to Outlook on the web is smaller. Conversely, some choose to stay on Domino mail with Verse, because they can keep all data in their own data centre. Read about migration to Microsoft 365.
Common questions about HCL Verse
Does Verse cost extra?
No. Verse is part of the Domino licence and only requires the server to be set up for it.
Does Verse work with old Domino versions?
Verse requires Domino 9.0.1 or newer, and the latest features require Domino 12 or 14. Older servers should be upgraded first.
Can Verse be used for Notes applications?
