CCB licence

CCB (Complete Collaboration Business) is HCL's per user licence for Domino. It gives access to all features, updates and add ons on an unlimited number of servers.

CCB stands for Complete Collaboration Business. It is the licence HCL uses for HCL Domino today. You pay per user, not per server. A CCB user may use all clients and all protocols on all servers. So you can run as many Domino servers as you like.

What is included?

According to HCL, CCB is the only licence that gives access to all features, updates and add ons in Domino. That includes for example HCL Verse, Traveler for mobile, HCL Nomad and the Domino REST API.

Who counts as a user?

A user counts when the person has a Notes ID or another login, is not in an active group that denies access, and has access to at least one Domino server. It is the login that counts, not whether the person actually uses the system. IDs for code signing, administrators and test users count too. Guests on the web without login are free, and so are registered guests who may only read.

Term or perpetual

CCB comes in two kinds:

External users such as customers and partners can often be covered more cheaply with a CCX licence.

Why does it matter?

Many companies pay for users who have left, or count external users as internal. HCL's free tool DLAU shows how many licences you really need. Licence rules and prices may change, so always check with an HCL partner. Read our full guide to HCL Domino licensing.
