Notes support is help for users and the IT department when HCL Notes, Domino or a Notes application misbehaves, from client errors to server outages.
Notes support is help when HCL Notes, Domino or a Notes application misbehaves. It spans from a user who cannot open a database to a server that has gone down in the middle of month end.
What does Notes support cover?
- User support: the client will not start, mail does not sync, the password is forgotten, a view is empty.
- Application support: an agent fails, a workflow is stuck, a document cannot be saved.
- Server support: Domino does not respond, mail is queuing, replication has stopped, the disk is full.
- Emergency support outside normal hours during an outage.
- Advice: how should we do this, and is it a good idea?
HCL's support and ours
HCL provides support on the product itself to customers with a valid licence. But HCL does not help with your own applications, your configuration or your integrations. That is where an external Notes consultant comes in. We know both the product and the way companies have built their solutions on it. And we can escalate to HCL when the fault lies in the product.
Support agreement or hourly?
Small companies often buy support by the hour. That works until the day the server goes down and you discover nobody is obliged to answer. A support agreement gives you an agreed response time, a fixed contact person and knowledge of your environment that solves problems faster. Most of our customers combine support with server monitoring, so faults are caught before they become support cases.
Common questions
Can you support an old Notes version?
Yes. We help with everything from Notes 6 upwards, but we always recommend upgrading. Old versions are a security risk.
How fast do you respond?
By agreement. Emergency support is available around the clock on +45 70 230 249 at an extra charge.
Can you take over support from a previous provider?
Yes. We start with a review of the environment, so we know it before the first case arrives.
